Music is a wonderful thing
Learn to play music with Joline Stewart, MME
Joline holds a Master Degree in Music Education, graduating Summa Cum Laude. She has performed professionally as a pianist and as a vocalist, in musical theater, opera, oratorio, and private concert. She has performed with the Seattle Opera, at the World Series, at Carnegie Hall with the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra and on television. As a director she has worked with string ensembles, bands, choirs, musical theater and operettas.
PlayMusic is not Joline’s first music school. Her first private school was featured on National Public Radio. Joline has been a public and private music teacher for over 30 years ranging from kindergarten through the college level.
Awards include the ING National Unsung Heroes award for innovation in education, Outstanding North Dakotan by Dollars for Scholars, and Who’s Who Among American Educators.
PlayMusic takes the “hard” out of learning music!
Five distinctive advantages of PlayMusic
1. It’s easier
PlayMusic isolates each music concept until it is fully mastered.
Students focus on one skill at a time instead of juggling multiple concepts.
Students that have learned to read music, learn instruments quickly. The goal of PlayMusic is teaching people to read music. After that, learning an instrument is much quicker and easier.
2. No need to practice
PlayMusic begins with xylophones to simplify the learning process.
Students start with one note or one pitch bar at a time.
No fingering, hand positioning, or dexterity is required in the beginning.
PlayMusic accomplishes in two years what is accomplished in private lessons by playing music five days a week.
3. It’s comprehensive
PlayMusic lessons require no lesson plans or parent preparation.
Video lessons are short, engaging, and designed for self-paced learning.
Younger students can enjoy repetition while older students can progress quickly.
4. No preparation
PlayMusic teaches rhythms, counting, note names, chords and over 100 songs.
Students learn songs before learning to read the treble staff.
Reading music on the staff is easier to learn because rhythms and melodies have already been learned. Their brains can focus on one thing at a time.
5. No private lessons
PlayMusic brings expert music instruction directly into the home.
Families avoid travel time to lessons. Accomplish two years of piano lessons in two years of PlayMusic at a fraction of the cost.
Private lessons are desirable and can be used with PlayMusic, but we recommend beginning with PlayMusic. It will save time and money.
PlayMusic is a 34-week course that can easily be stretched out or shortened to fit your family’s schedule. Kids start playing songs on day one and keep playing songs. Like learning a sport, kids learn by playing the game. Don’t practice. Just play music!

Premium PlayMusic Xylophones!
PlayMusic uses xylophones because our objective is to teach students to read music first and learn an instrument second.
Xylophones are ideal for learning to read music. The xylophone is the easiest and most fun instrument for beginning musicians. Very little learning is needed to master the instrument. Children can play a xylophone as soon as they take it out of the box.
The initial purchase is an Alto/Tenor Xylophone, chosen for its size and tone quality. Only premium PlayMusic xylophones are uniquely suited for this course. No other xylophone should be used.
Scales
Scales and key signatures are easy to remember as students physically change the pitches.
Songs
Songs are easy when the only pitches on the xylophone are the ones needed for each song.
Chords
Students physically build chords by choosing every other pitch bar to make a chord.
One pitch songs
Beginning songs are played on one pitch bar. Students play a rhythm pattern to the sound track.

• $150 refund for the xylophone (must be returned in original, unused condition in the original box)
Because the xylophone is a physical product we cannot resell once used, refunds for the instrument are only available when xylophone is returned in original box. Total refund: up to $450.
Need More Xylophones?
You can purchase additional PlayMusic xylophones for immediate family members.
All individual membership orders come with one alto/tenor xylophone. Families can learn to play music together by ordering additional xylophones.
PlayMusic recommends ordering a soprano xylophone as a second instrument in order for two children to play together. If three students play together, we recommend the bass xylophone as the third instrument. The bass xylophone is preferable for year two as we learn to read the bass clef.
The PlayMusic Ambassador Referral Program is designed to help families purchase additional educational products.
